New Patients at Livin’ Well Family Chiropractic

Start Strong With a Detailed First Visit

Choosing a chiropractic office for your family is a big decision, and our doctors want your first visit to feel reassuring. At our family practice in Cheyenne, we focus on true wellness, not quick fixes.

This first visit includes a consultation, spinal exam, and any necessary spinal X-rays. If you’re looking for a quick adjustment with no answers, this probably isn’t the right fit. If you want clarity, education, and a real plan — you’re exactly where you should be.

Getting Ready For Visit One

Scheduling is simple. You can call, text, or book your visit online; online booking is for brand-new patients so our team can carefully manage the schedule. After you schedule, you’ll get a text with a short video about what to expect, a link to complete your paperwork from your phone, and an email with directions and clothing tips. Plan on 40-45 minutes for your first visit.

For this first visit, we recommend wearing comfortable clothing (without metal) and completing your paperwork in advance so our doctors have time to review your case.

At your first visit, your doctor will perform a posture analysis, spinal health assessment, and take any needed spinal X-rays. From there, our team determines the right next steps based on what we find.

Your First Visit Looks Different Depending On Who We’re Seeing

We care for adults, kids, and pregnant mamas every week—and while our process is thorough for everyone, what happens on your first visit varies based on age, stage of life, and what’s safest for your body. Here’s what you can expect:

What to Expect at Visit One:

  • A detailed consultation and examination
  • Posture analysis
  • Spinal health assessment
  • Digital full-spine X-rays (typically for patients 12 and older)
  • What to wear: Comfortable clothing without metal whenever possible (think yoga pants, workout clothes, or relaxed everyday wear).
  • Timeline: 40-45 minutes

What Happens After The First Visit?

If X-rays are taken at your first visit, our doctors take time to carefully review your findings and collaborate on your case. Your next visit is scheduled promptly so we can review your imaging together and begin your Chiropractic care as soon as possible.

At that visit, we’ll show you your X-rays (if taken), walk you through what we found, and discuss recommendations. This is where education meets ownership — so you understand your body and your options. If our doctors can accept your case and you choose to start care in our clinic, you will receive your first adjustment on this second visit.

Pregnancy is one of the most important times to get your body working with you instead of against you. The goal is comfort, alignment, and helping your pelvis and nervous system function at their best as your baby grows.

When Can You Start Care?

Chiropractic care can begin at any stage of pregnancy, though starting earlier often allows your body more time to adapt and respond.
Some moms choose to start care early to support comfort, nervous system balance, and a more confident birth experience. Others reach out later in pregnancy with specific goals around pelvic alignment and optimal positioning, using the Webster Technique as part of their care.

What To Expect At Your First Prenatal Visit:

  • A full consultation and examination
  • Posture and spinal assessments
  • No X-rays during pregnancy (X-rays are typically taken postpartum if needed)

When Does The First Adjustment Happen?

This depends on your stage of pregnancy, your current concerns, and your goals for care. Your doctor will walk through these details with you at your first visit. In some cases, an adjustment may happen the same day as your exam. When care is focused primarily on prenatal wellness, the first adjustment typically takes place at your second visit, after your doctors have had time to thoughtfully review your findings and create your care plan.

Special Accommodations For Pregnant Mamas

We use pregnancy-specific chiropractic tables designed to support your growing belly, allowing you to lie face down comfortably with zero pressure on your tummy. It’s a favorite moment for many of our pregnant patients — a chance to breathe, relax, and enjoy a level of comfort they don’t get anywhere else. Care is always gentle, stable, and thoughtfully tailored to you.

Visit Frequency During Pregnancy (General Guideline)

Care during pregnancy is never one-size-fits-all. Visit frequency is based on your stage of pregnancy, how your body is responding, and your individual goals. Recommendations may change over time, and your doctor will walk you through what makes the most sense for you as you progress throughout your care.

Kids aren’t treated like tiny adults here. Pediatric visits are designed to feel comfortable, calm, and even fun—while still being thorough and meaningful.

What To Expect

  • A full consultation and examination
  • Age-appropriate spine and nervous system assessments
  • X-rays only if warranted
  • In most cases, the first adjustment happens on the same visit, unless the doctor requires more time to study the case

Additional Assessment Tools

We use a specialized tool called the nervoscope—a “tickle machine” that helps detect heat patterns and possible inflammation along certain nerves in the spine. This gives us extra insight into areas that may be under stress.

What Pediatric Adjustments Feel Like

Pediatric adjustments are very different from adult adjustments. They use:

  • Much lighter pressure
  • Gentle sustained pressure or a soft pulsation
  • Sometimes no full thrust at all
  • Minimal noise from the spine (parents are often surprised by how gentle it is)

Why Early Care Matters

Research shows that a large percentage of babies experience compromise to the upper cervical spine during delivery—especially with forceps, vacuum extraction, or cesarean birth. Catching and correcting issues early may help prevent patterns that can show up later in childhood.

A Kid-Friendly Environment

We keep a toy-filled adjusting room so the experience stays light and positive. Most children end up looking forward to visits—and parents often tell us they’re relieved by how easy it feels.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take my insurance?

We are a cash practice and do not bill traditional insurance plans, because they do not prioritize prevention or long-term health. This allows us to recommend the care you need instead of what a policy covers. We provide a superbill—a specially coded receipt—so you can submit claims to your insurance or use health savings benefits.

Do you offer family plans or discounts?

Yes, we offer family member discounts to encourage care for all. Our goal is to serve families, and we frequently feature a family of the month, reflecting our commitment to lifetime family wellness.
