Tip #13...Franken-FATS - what's that?!

fats

Remember our conversation about FATS?!  I hope you stocked up on your healthy fats after that!  Now it’s time to talk about which FATS to stay away from, we like to call these “Frankenfats”.  These are factory created fats that produce free radicals and inflammation in your body, which leads to reactive and dysfunctional cells (if that sounds bad, it’s ‘cuz it is)!  Here are some of the most common ‘FrankenFats’ you want to avoid: corn oil, cottonseed oil, canola oil, vegetable oil, peanut oil, soybean oil, sunflower oil, safflower oil, hydrogenated oils/spreads aka margarine.  Yep, you read those correctly.  EVEN MARGARINE!!

Do you also remember 2 weeks ago when we talked about omega 3s and 6s?  If you forgot, our newest video is a quick refresher and a little more information on why we want to stay away from the processed/industrial seed oils.  Enjoy!

PS if you avoid pre-packaged junk food, you will be doing a great job with tip #12, 13, and 14 – which together account for 60% of the American diet and one of the primary culprits of body wide inflammation!

See you tomorrow – happy Thursday!
